Network route diagnostics
TRACEROUTE helps explain where a connection starts slowing down, rerouting, or failing.
Use traceroute when a site feels slow from one region, a host becomes intermittently reachable, or a support case needs a clearer view of the path between a user and a service.
What to look for
- Where latency begins to increase.
- Whether packet loss appears on one segment or across multiple hops.
- Whether the route changes between tests or locations.
Visual checks
Traceroute results are easier to interpret when they are paired with the time and scope of the issue.
Route checks often need DNS and reporting pages nearby so the result stays actionable.
Use it with other pages
Traceroute is strongest when paired with DIG for DNS context and Reports & Tracking for the timing and scope of an incident.
